This blog is being inaugurated to coincide with the opening of a new space for teens at the Cloquet Public Library. Look for letters spelling out "Teen Scene" on the far back wall of the library . . . You'll find an area that has been planned and designed with the help of a teen panel from CHS.
A fundraiser was held at the library last fall during our semi-annual used-book sale, with teen volunteers staffing the B&B wagon. Money raised went toward the purchase of games for the library's new Xbox Kinect. Xbox can be played in the library's large meeting room on Monday evenings from 4 to 5 p.m.
The new teen space at the back of the library includes a booth, a table and chairs, a Foof chair (basically a beanbag), and three computer workstations. Plans also include a small game table in the near future. Board games can be checked out now at the front desk. Young adult fiction has been moved to shelves along the back wall.
Drop by after school or in the evening to check out the new area!
