Teen Read Week - Top 10 Teen Books

Did you know it's Teen Read Week?

Teen Read Week is all about getting young adults to read just for the fun of it. It's sponsored by YALSA, the Young Adult Library Services Association, a division of the American Library Association. The idea is to raise awareness among teens about library resources and services. Here's YALSA's website:  http://www.ala.org/yalsa.

On the website, you'll find a list of Teens' Top Ten books published in the past year. Nominations come from 16 school and public libraries from around the country. Any teen age 12 to 18 can vote for their choice from the nominated titles in August and September. So, that means you'll have to wait until next summer/fall to make your voice heard if you have a favorite book.

Find out the winners by clicking on the YALSA website link above, or download the PDF file directly from: http://www.ala.org/yalsa/sites/ala.org.yalsa/files/content/teenreading/teenstopten/2012TeensTopTenWINNERS.pdf

Let us know if you have read any of these books and what you thought about them. If you'd like to have your comments posted as a mini-review on this blog, submit your comment here (just click on the pencil icon), or e-mail to: cloquetlib.teenblog@gmail.com.
